Chipotle update in Utah…

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Burritofication in progress - Chipotle in UtahThere is a new sign up at the Chipotle in Salt Lake! From an earlier post, you saw the "SOON" sign I took a picture of. Well, they've put a new sign in the window while they remodel the building. Check it.

While I was at it, I took a picture through the front door of the "Burritofication in progress - Chipotle in Utahburritofication" process. This building is HUGE. It appears that it needs a new floor…

You know I'll keep you posted on it's progress. Cool

Websites Designed by Me

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

In the interest of Internet Harmony and the shameless marketing of the websites I have designed over the years, I have created this page as a launch pad for search engine spiders.

… Oh, and it is a gallery of sorts if you want to see what I'm up to now and then.

- www.scoreguardian.com - Score Guardian is the best CRM tool for the mortgage industry.  It allows Loan Officers to track and maintain a client base.

- www.heartfeltadopt.com - The Utah Adoption Agency that will help us find our baby girl. Look for my picture.

- www.prosecurityproducts.com - Another client in Utah! These guys are a locksmith and security specialist shop rolled into one.

- www.cutathome.com - In the scrapbooking capital of the world (Utah), how can you go wrong? This is huge online scrapbooking supply store that I developed.

- www.hannaganmeadow.com - My mom and dad's home in the White Mountains of Eastern Arizona. An old hunter's lodge with rooms to rent as well as cabins. 22 miles away from everything else on the planet. Look for my picture on this site too.

- www.sixrealbrothers.com - The most talented group of SIX brothers you will ever have the pleasure of watching perform. They are currently performing in Branson Missouri.

- www.bajabushpilots.com - If you ever need to skip town and go south of the border to Mexico, these are the guys who can get you there and back safely. The green interface is less than desirable, but that's what they wanted. Besides, it's the GUTS of the site that really count.

Here's a few sites I threw together for my good friend Cam Stewart, who always buys me a Chile Relleno from Mi Amigo's when I am down in Phoenix. He owns Tower Printing and Tactix Design in Mesa Arizona. All of these sites were graphically designed by Cam's team, but I put the code together to make them web pages.

- www.foresightaz.com - For all your home automation, entertainment and security needs.

- www.montevistaresort.com - Old folks retirement resort in Mesa Arizona

- www.betteratm.com - Makes your ATM machine "better". I did the awesome butterfly animation… sweeeet.

- www.taxque.com - For all your tax needs.

- www.thorpesurgical.com - Go here to get your teeth fixed.

I have developed quite a few more sites over the years, but these are the only sites that deserve any mention at this time. Come back often to see if I've added anything to the list.

“Chipotle Glee”

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

… That's what my friend Myke called it when I told him Chipotle was FINALLY building a few locations inside the state of Utah. I actually emailed the Chipotle Corporation a few weeks back and asked them when they were building in Utah. I was told the first location will be in West Bountiful and will open in May. That's only about 20 miles from my house… never too far for a Chipotle Burrito.

The first real sign of a Chipotle in Utah!… And then I went to lunch with my grandfather today, just like I always do. We were sitting in his favorite "soup joint" (Paradise Bakery) when I looked out of the window and saw the most BEAUTIFUL site accross the street! (See photo). I told my grandfather we are going to have come to Paradise to get his soup and then I'd have to run accross the street and get a burrito.

Yes, call it glee… I can now live in Utah in peace. I will finally have a decent "mexican" joint to eat at. Whew! I was beginning to wonder there for awhile. :)

BTW, Chipotle has a killer website. You really must visit if you've never seen it.

Me... Steve ServiceWelcome to the new and improved VonWrinkle.com!

For those of you looking for pictures of our baby girl, Maya - click here . There are two posts all about her in my "Exciting Times " category.

These pages, thoughts, photos, videos and memories are designed to catalog my life for future generations… A sort of "Public Journal" if you will. (If you want to see my most recent posts, click here .)

Why? Because I'm a slacker and haven't written a lick of anything about my life, thoughts, and feelings in any journal or diary. How are my great, great, great grandkids ever going to know who I was? And why should they care unless I provide them with a "colorful" history?

Being the web developer that I am, I figured there isn't any better way than to do it online… and I might just update it once in awhile too.

I added a new page to my site that displays links to all of the websites I've been working on recently.

Cheers.

I Knew My Kids Were Monkeys…

Saturday, October 14th, 2006

Especially, that Ethan kid. But, I never knew WHY they were such monkeys… until last week that is. It seems Sage and I can climb a wall with the best of them. Note the photos of us at our local LifeTime Fitness rock wall. We took all the boys there last week because they are constantly bugging us to take them there, and the fact that the twins are now 5 and "legal" as far as climbing rock walls is concerned… Oh, and the fact that we pay a monthly fee to be members of the place.

Ethan and Avery are quite adept and climbing and if they had tails, would be true monkeys. Isaac and Owen may not have got that gene though. They were fairly timid on their first tries up the wall. Both only reached the middle of the wall before they got scared of being too high. I'm not sure why they were scared. The automatic belays were almost strong enough to pull them up the wall without them doing any work. We had to attach and extra length of rope to "pull" them back to earth after they let go of the wall.

I guess were going to have to try again soon.

Enjoy this video of Ethan and Owen "racing" up the wall like "Spider-Man". You can also download it by right clicking HERE and then clicking "save link as".

The “Barber” in me…

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

I've been cutting my own hair for a very long time… since High School I think. Oh, sure… I go to a professional once in awhile to "reset" my hair to a more natural state, but most of the time I can't stand to pay for a haircut.

My freshly shaved headAfter spending 5 days with my brother Ian, and then coming home to see my friend Billy Shalz and his buzzed bean, I decided it was time for my "once in a blue moon" shaving. So I cut off my hair. The last time I did something this drastic was about the same time the twins were born… and that was five years ago this week. Wow… has it been that long since they were born? SHEEEESH!

Anyway… enjoy the photo, I'm sure it is good for a laugh.

I’m officially a “Blogger”…

Thursday, August 3rd, 2006

So, a few weeks back, we had a lesson in our Elder's Quorum about the importance of journaling… And it dawned on me that I have journaled a sum total of about 7 days in my whole life. And those 7 days came as a requirement for cub scouts!

It's ironic that a web geek like me hasn't decided to blog until now, but the lesson we had struck a chord… now I will catalog my life for future generations through my written words, videos, photos… and maybe the occasional song. But I won't dance. Sorry.

Hopefully, I can keep on top of things and write at least once a week. I promise to have a whole section devoted to "memories" of the past that will reconstruct (as much as I can remember) my entire life from day one. Should be interesting.

Enjoy.

Who’s Wrinkle?

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Yes, it is true… my nickname is Wrinkle. I have my friend Rob Jarvis to thank for this wonderful moniker. Actually, the full name is Von Wrinklenutz. The German prefix of "Von" gives it that extra special touch… and yes "nutz" is exactly what you think it is… but for those who like short names, "Wrinkle" will do just fine. What does it mean you ask? Well… for the true meaning and the history behind it (and the German pre-fix) you will have to ask Mr. Jarvis himself. However, the basic jist of the name is short for a wrinkled scrotum. There… I said it. Scrotum. That word is funny by itself… now add the word "Wrinkle". Rob is a funny guy. :o
